I am a painter living in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Previously I was an advertising photographer in NYC for two decades. I began teaching myself to paint in 2014 and sold all my photo gear to concentrate on painting soon thereafter.
Most of my early painting work had a radical environmental message, but during 2018 I began a move into abstract expressionism (which to me makes as much or more sense than the “real world” these days) – and find I usually have those pieces hanging on my wall.
As of January 2019 I have begun signing works with the artist name “Mark Christobie.” Prior to that date I was signing with my given name “Brad Bealmear.” For available works done prior to 1/1/19 I am now placing a mark through the existing signature and adding the new one.
